New $20 Million Cecil B. Moore Recreation Center Set to Transform Community Life
As part of The Rebuild Project, the highly anticipated Cecil B. Moore Recreation Center is undergoing a transformative $20 million redevelopment, bringing a state-of-the-art facility to the heart of the North Philadelphia community. Designed to serve residents of all ages, the new center will offer a range of high-quality amenities and spaces that promote wellness, learning, and connection.
Highlights of the facility will include:
- A multi-use gymnasium with a full-size regulation basketball court
- A dedicated boxing space
- Several multi-purpose rooms for youth and adult programming
- An auditorium/theater for performances and community gatherings
- New outdoor basketball courts
- A community amphitheater for events and celebrations
Construction is expected to be completed by summer 2026. Upon opening, the revitalized center will also feature a reimagined swimming pool, updated playground space, and a modern athletic field—further expanding access to quality recreational opportunities for the surrounding community.
