Poverty is a complicated challenge. From systemic racism, to inequities in the justice system, to the problems of income and educational inequality, the many causes and symptoms are interwoven. Income stability is a key factor in not only getting above the poverty line, but also staying above it. And the more we remove barriers to employment in our city, the more we’ll all thrive, with a stronger workforce, safer communities, and fewer people in crisis.
